BRINGING TOGETHER A NETWORK OF GRASSROOT ORGANISATIONS
NAG has been in existence since the year 2000. Through her work dealing with victims of Trauma throughout UGU district, Sylvia Mdluli of the National Peace Accord Trust saw the need of a network for grass root organisations. She actively canvassed amongst existing community based organisations to harness their support.

RAPID GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
After consulting with the other major role players in UGU district the Network Action Group was formed in 2000. NAG was an entirely voluntary run network for the first 9 years of its existence, with the secretariat function provided by National Peace Accord Trust south coast office and Place of Restoration Trust in Margate. In 2009 after a strategic planning meeting the executive committee appointed Brian Liggett as co-ordinator to start establishing an office and develop programmes. Since then NAG has seen rapid growth and development in terms of membership, resources and programmes.
