We had a fruitful meeting with Department of Social Development (DSD) officials and social workers in our offices in Port Shepstone on Tuesday the 29th of September. The discussions revolved around evaluating the testing phase of the Information Management System (IMS) project and rolling out the finalised work flow board into the rest of UGU district.
Though the main focus is to address the blockages in the early childhood development registration system, the concept of the work flow boards can be utilized to manage information in other services provided by the DSD.
This Monday and Tuesday, the 12th and 13th of October, we assumed training in Elandskraal with uMzinyathi district social workers. Attendance by service office managers and supervisors demonstrated the passion that they have for the people they service. The group were enthusiastic and optimistic about the implementation of the work flow board system and we hope to this momentum will carry on throughout the duration of the project.
